Orthodontics & Invisalign in Fort Worth
Patients of all ages have relied on traditional metallic braces to straighten out their smiles, but for some, the length of treatment time, frequent visits to the orthodontist, hassle involved in wearing bracket and wire braces, and the appearance of traditional braces all deter patients from seeking out orthodontic treatment. At Art District Dental, we offer patients two alternative orthodontic treatment methods, Invisalign and Six Month Smiles, that allow patients to correct irregular spaced or crooked teeth without the complications associated with bracket and wire braces.
Invisalign Alignment Tray System
Invisalign is one of the most popular forms of cosmetic orthodontics available. Rather than using wires and brackets to apply consistent pressure to teeth gradually shifting them into position, Invisalign relies on a series of clear, plastic alignment trays to gently move teeth into position. Each set of aligners represents a step in the alignment process one shift closer to the desired end result. Over the course of wearing the alignment trays for about two weeks, teeth shift into that new location closer to the ideal position. Aligners are removable, so patients do not need to worry about changing their diet or oral hygiene routines throughout treatment. Instead, patients remove their aligners during meals and regular cleaning. Less frequent, shorter checkups throughout care save patients time throughout their care, and in most cases, patients complete treatment in 8 to 18 months saving time overall.
Six Month Smiles Braces
As the name implies, six month smiles allow our team to offer patients a more beautiful smile in six months or less. By focusing on the “social six” front teeth, six month smiles offer more cosmetically appealing tooth position without years of orthodontic treatment for otherwise healthy teeth that are not visible within a patient’s smile. Six month smiles are custom-crafted bracket and wire treatments. They look and function similarly to traditional metal braces, but they are crafted from low profile (set closer to the teeth putting less strain on the mouth, cheeks, and soft tissue) clear or tooth colored braces. Not only do they offer a more comfortable fit for patients, they are less noticeable during regular speech, laughter, and smiling in public. Because only the visible portions of smiles are affected, treatment times typically last between 3 and 8 months saving time and giving patients beautiful smiles quickly.
